Basta Turns Traditional Concept to Functional Design

Basta Turns Traditional Concept to Functional Design

Basta, the winning project of Urban Commissions 2020, rethinks the retail experience in an outdoor, urban setting whilst adapting to the new norms of today. The project does not only offer an aesthetical design, but also features practical solutions for modern day retailers such as mobility, easy storage and weatherproofing all the while using sustainable materials.

Urban Commissions is a Dubai Design Week initiative supported by A.R.M. Holding. This year’s edition encouraged designers to propose an innovative solution for a multifunctional boutique fit for an outdoor retail experience.

Mohammad Al Shehhi, CEO of A.R.M. Holding said in an interview with Arabic speaking newspaper AlBayan that the innovative projects in the design industry play a vital role in achieving Dubai’s Cultural Vision for sustainable growth and urban planning.
