With a mission to engage and ignite the young generation’s interest in arts and culture, the A.R.M. Holding Children's Programme brings in-classroom workshops to 90 schools across the UAE. Now on its third edition, the country's most extensive cultural education programme has seen tremendous growth since its initial launch in 2021, with the number of students participating expanding from 1,800 to over 8,000.
Taking place until 15 June 2023, ‘The Flag Project’ is the third iteration of this important initiative, developed by A.R.M. Holding in partnership with Art Dubai and has been produced with leading international visual artist Jacob Dahlgren. Designed for children between the ages of 5 and 17, Swedish artist Dahlgren, who blends formal abstraction with social culture, developed the concept as an extension of his ongoing project, Signs of Abstraction, which aims to inspire creative and abstract thinking about the environment while also encouraging teamwork. Using everyday craft materials and scrap fabrics, students will use their imaginations and collaborate on collages that will be sewn together and then transformed into colourful tapestries and flags.

A.R.M. Holding announced its contribution of AED 10 million in support of the “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the aim to provide a sustainable food safety net for underprivileged populations, as well as help fight hunger and malnutrition around the world.
A.R.M. Holding’s pledge to support the planned food aid endowment fund with a AED 10 million donation over a period of 5 years, helps alleviate the suffering of tens of millions of people around the world, struggling with life-threatening food insecurity.
Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, CEO of A.R.M. Holding, said: “The UAE’s commitment to humanitarian efforts is evident all year round, and is even more pronounced during the holy month of Ramadan. We are privileged to contribute to this year’s “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign as we recognize hunger and food insecurity as a real threat to tens of millions of people around the world.
“This campaign is a message of good and solidarity from the UAE to those in need everywhere, and a call to maximize efforts to fight and eradicate hunger and empower vulnerable people and victims of wars and natural disasters,” he added.
“1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign builds on the success of previous food aid campaigns starting with “10 Million Meals” campaign in Ramadan 2020, which exceeded its target and provided 15.3 million meals. This was followed in Ramadan 2021 by “100 Million Meals” campaign which doubled its target and distributed 220 meals thanks to the contributions of 385,000 donators from 51 nationalities. Later, “1 Billion Meals” campaign launched in Ramadan 2022 and hit its target in under a month, providing meals in 50 countries around the world with the support of 320,868 donators.

The “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign welcomes donations and contributions to the endowment fund from institutions and individuals across five main channels including the campaign’s website (<a href="http://www.1billionmeals.ae" data-new-window="true" title="1 Billion Meal Campaign Page" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">www.1billionmeals.ae</a>), as well as a dedicated call center via the toll free number (800 9999). Donations are also possible via bank transfers in the UAE dirham to the campaign bank account number with Emirates NBD (AE30 0260 0010 1533 3439 802). Donations via SMS give contributors the option to donate AED 1 daily through a monthly subscription, by sending the word “Meal” to 1020 for du users, or to 1110 for Etisalat by e&amp; users. Those who wish to donate to the campaign through the DubaiNow app can do so by clicking on the “Donations” tab.

Dubai, UAE; 15 June 2023: Today marks the conclusion of the third edition of the A.R.M. Holding Children's Programme. This cultural education programme is the largest of its kind in the UAE, aimed at inspiring the next generation of creative minds and cultivating a passion for art and culture. The 2023 edition grew 64%, reaching more than 9000 students across the country.
The first-of-its-kind programme is developed by private investment firm A.R.M. Holding, in partnership with Art Dubai. The initiative seeks to empower the new generation with an understanding of the arts, reinforcing Dubai's position as the global capital of culture and innovation. With creative programming conceived by international artists, each edition is designed to inspire the UAE's young minds by offering specially curated workshops at Art Dubai every spring, followed by bespoke classroom experiences.
His Excellency Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, CEO of A.R.M. Holding, said: "In a diverse community of over 200 nationalities, art is a bridge that can connect us on a deeper level, fostering communication, understanding, and empathy. By integrating the arts both in and out of the classroom, we can equip students with the tools they need to think innovatively and solve problems creatively. Our programme has grown tremendously, increasing this year’s outreach to 64% compared to 2022. Over the years, we have engaged 1,800 children from 70 schools in the first edition, 5,500 students in 80 schools in the second edition, to over 9,000 students from 90 schools this year. We sincerely hope this programme can be extended further, serving as an integral component of the UAE curriculum."
Each year, the programme themes the workshops complementary to the UAE priorities. In its inaugural edition in 2021, design duo Studio Sain tested innovative ideas on constructing a sustainable community in outer space and had the children create an alternative living habitat on a fictional version of the moon through the ‘Noom Project.’ This was in line with the UAE's space mission to Mars as the first Emirati embarks on space travel. As the UAE leads the way in sustainable development, Kenyan artist Cyrus Kabiru conducted 'Art of Recycle' workshops in 2022. Designed to challenge perspectives and demonstrate how everyday objects can be given a new lease of life, the children repurposed everyday materials from their homes and schools creatively.
In 2023, the A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme’s third edition selected Swedish visual artist Jacob Dahlgren. Drawing inspiration from his Signs of Abstraction project, he developed a series of workshops designed for children aged from 5 to 17. The aim was to foster teamwork skills while promoting creative and abstract thinking about their environments. The children created collages from everyday materials, pieced together to form colourful tapestries and flags. The programme culminates with an exhibition of the children’s artwork at schools, demonstrating the potential of abstract engagement with our surroundings and the power of collaboration towards a common goal.

Holding, the lead partner of Art Dubai, closed the 16th edition of the fair that took place from March 1st – 5th 2023 at Madinat Jumeirah, by announcing the launch of its premium real estate brand, HUNA. The concept for this year themed "The Flag Project" will see Jacob working with the children to demonstrate how abstract concepts are part of everyday lives. All the participants will be given striped red and white t-shirts to wear as a uniform and they will make collages in colored paper. Finally, all these different collages will be sewn together, and the children will be able to transform them into flags that they can take home.

Holding has created a thought-provoking infographic, highlighting the energy-saving impact of Spectrum Lab’s innovative building coating. As a partner of the Global Grad Show, which acts as an incubator for sustainable impact initiatives, Spectrum Lab, which is part of A.R.M. Holding’s portfolio, has worked in collaboration to visually represent the key numbers behind the next-generation responsive paint, and its potential environmental impact over time.&nbsp;
 
The overall mission of the start-up is to ensure building exteriors can be 100 percent reflective in summer and 100 percent absorbent in winter. This thermoregulative solution is achieved through a ground-breaking coating (applied similarly to paint), which reversibly changes colour from dark to white at around 25-30°C. Furthermore, the coating’s optical performances are customisable, based on geography, climate, and client preferences and needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;

For the end user, this means that approximately 15% of cooling and heating energy is saved per year, lowering costs. In fact, the thermochromic coating leads to a payback period twice shorter than existing solutions at just 2.5 years, which is significantly lower than even solar panels. Cyrus Kabiru, a Nairobi-based, self-taught artist and sculptor known for his elaborate spectacles known as ‘C-Stunners’, commented: “Every young person can become an artist. We simply need to show them that ‘art’ isn’t always what they think it is. It can be playful, exciting, different and whatever they want it to be.”&nbsp;
Devising the programme’s theme, curating the children’s activities and designing the workshop décor, Cyrus Kabiru will work with young artists to retrieve and repurpose everyday materials from their homes and schools, and transform them into works of art. The concept is designed to alter our perspectives on everyday objects and our wider surroundings.&nbsp;
The programme will feature drop-in sessions as well as workshops that can be pre-registered for. To accommodate children of differing ages and educational levels, the activities will be adapted and prepared in three formats to suit the following age groups: ages 5-7, ages 8-12 and ages 13-17. The Programme will also incorporate a competition, rewarding the children for the best work that is produced during the workshops. Immersive workshops curated by the artist will take place at the Art Dubai Fair.&nbsp;
For 2022, the programme will expand through in-classroom workshops taking place after the fair in March. UAE schools are invited to provide opportunities for children to grow and develop their interest and understanding of the arts. The activities will be available to 5,000 children across 80 schools – more than doubling the number of participants in 2021.&nbsp;

Dubai, 7 November 2021:&nbsp;Dubai’s coveted Al Wasl Road is set to welcome H Residence, a luxury mixed-use development, announced by A.R.M. Holding. The ultra-stylish property will feature a variety of retail units, as well as two arched wings of 37 duplexes and apartments. The wings will connect via a sky bridge, boasting an infinity pool that overlooks both a stylish plaza and Dubai skyline.

The inaugural edition of the A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme saw successful completion with 1,800 students participating from 70 schools across the country. The nation-wide, week-long “Noom Project” was developed by design duo Studio Sain and invited children to create an alternative living habitat on a fictional version of the moon.
The “Noom Project” classroom-based art workshops offered students a temporary opportunity to explore how a new society might be constructed, and encouraged them to deconstruct boundaries in order to generate imaginary, intuitive and innovative objects. Alongside the UAE’s space mission to Mars and sending the first Emirati into space, the workshop was conceptualized to test ideas around the central question, “How would you construct a sustainable community in outer space?”
The programme garnered exceptional feedback from both teachers and pupils, praising the collaborative nature and creative approach of the programme.

19 artworks from the A.R.M. Holding Art Collection were selected earlier this month to join Dubai Collection, the first institutional art collection for the city of Dubai, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The recently launched A.R.M. Holding Art Collection brings together pieces from a wide range of geographies, media, and subject matter, while featuring works by Middle Eastern as well as international artists from established and emerging art hubs.

A.R.M. Holding, in partnership with Art Dubai, has launched the A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme created to connect local schools with international artists and facilitate the interaction of school children with art and design through a series of bespoke workshops.&nbsp;
The inaugural edition of the Programme is titled “Noom Project” and is carried out in collaboration with Studio Sain who will supervise children aged 5 to 15 in creating an alternative living habitat on a fictional version of the Moon.
Studio Sain is a contemporary design studio founded in 2018 by Namuun Zimmermann and Martijn Rigters to deliver experimental object design and conceptual educational workshops.

The Palma Spring race, a 1700m maiden race for horses foaled locally, crowned Wakeel W’Rsan ridden by Richard Mullen, riding in the colours of W’Rsan Stables for Jaci Wickham.
The fifth and sixth races were held under the names of the Crown Prince of Sharjah Cup and HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup respectively.

The Global Grad Show, in partnership with the Investment Corporation of Dubai, announced an open call to its academic network for solutions to address collateral issues arising from COVID-19. The Global Grad Show open call is supported by the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi in addition to A.R.M.
